If you've been around the block in the snowboard scene over the past couple of seasons, you've probably heard the buzz about the Capita The Black Snowboard of Death Snowboard. This carbon-backed, nose-rockered beast is meant to be ridden aggressively - rail turns, plunder pow stashes and grip on the steep and chattery thanks to the versatile mountain profile and medium stiff flex. This supremely-crafted board straight from The Mothership (seriously, it's a real place) is the pinnacle of Capita's line and has the awards to back it. If you're looking for an aggressive ride for a full-out all-mountain attack, swoop up the Black Snowboard of Death and run to the hills.
PRODUCT DETAILS
ROCKER TYPE
Mountain Profile – The Mountain Profile features mid-body camber with a flat tail and a reverse cambered nose. This allows for tons of pop and stability on hardpack while increasing float and landing power, improving the rider's performance in deep snow.
FLEX
6.5 – (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
SHAPE
5mm Tapered Tail
CORE
Hover Core™ – Engineered specifically for CAPiTA's flagship model, this new core is a shining example of Space Age technical supremacy. Designed using high yield materials, the Hover Core™ is so light it essentially floats across the snow. Thin cut low density paulownia strips are combined with 7mm poplar beams to create a unique ply configuration. The result is an energetic core that is extremely light and strong with excellent dampening properties.
LAMINATES
Nano-Carbon Forks – Nano-Carbon technologies have been developed on an atomic level for applications ranging from superyachts to aerospace to outer space. Sound too tech for snowboarding? CAPiTA doesn't think so. Engineered with high performance matrix resin, these pressure molded 30mm forks have a compressive strength 25% higher than the already incredible pre-cured carbon boosters.
Dynaweave™ Fiberglass – The Dynaweave™ configuration features triaxial fiberglass on the top of the core and biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating more response while increasing strength and durability. Combine this layup with a specialized resin and one of the many additives CAPiTA has available and you get a high performing board tailored to meet your style of riding.
Bi-Resin – Low temperature requirement, high yield output. This marine grade resin system is poppy, powerful, and extremely durable. Bi-Resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing CaPiTA to decrease the wood core thickness. The main focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.
SIDEWALLS
Urethane Topsheet Anchor – Shearing layers are essential to a board's durability. When the outer areas of a snowboard flex there are opposing forces that stress the construction layers. In order to reduce that amount of internal force a softer layer can act as a shock absorber. This layer of urethane placed between more rigid materials allow the board to flex without the risk of failure during impact.
Full ABS Sidewalls
BASE
Nano-Carbon Race Base™ – The Black Snowboard of Death isn't technically a race board, but the loyal fans of this board live life in the fast lane. They charge hard, and for 2016/17, CAPiTA has integrated the fastest, meanest bases available. With exceptional anti-friction properties due to high molecular mass and specialized processing aids, this is the material used to win World Cups and Olympic Medals. Now, you can use it to leave your friends in the dust.
